As the winter edges closer to spring Mr. Dometastic and I continue to do our homework. Ok, maybe not that kind of homework but this means two things: Paperwork for our house, specifically permits Research on ones already built We look for inspiration in what other dome builders have done. This means everything from talking to others that are building, looking into construction methods that may help us and looking at finished homes for inspiration. Because the construction is DIY friendly there are many examples of what we call "hippie houses" and many that are pretty wild architecturally. The "hippie houses" look handmade (not that there is anything wrong with that) and the other end was dreamed up by architects that were clearly given free rein to do whatever they wanted regardless of cost.
